Empowering over 33 families in Klang Valley and its outskirts, Shelter Community is determined to give children a future. With monthly food parcels, used laptops, school uniforms, and shoes; children in primary and secondary schools receive supplementary study aids, books, toys and moral support.
What keeps the Shelter momentum? Kunatarsini Ganesan, 14 of SMK Puchong Batu 11 states, “I never imagined that I could get a laptop without paying a single sen for it.” She added that it came just at the right time for yes srogasia, a mathematic internet based course conducted at her school.
Kunatarsini, eldest of three children, lives with her grandmother, younger sister Nantini, 12 and brother Thivyan, 7. Though beset with financial constraints and not being able to be with her parents at this time, her determination to go the distance is an inspiration to all of them.
